Irina Belova was born in the small town of Antopol, Belarus. She graduated from the Lomonosov Moscow State University (Faculty of Economics). She completed oil painting courses at Moscow Art School of Memory of 1905. Now she resides in Moscow working as a graphic designer and illustrator (you can see and buy her published books here).

"Irina Belova's paintings are always unexpected and fascinating for both their colors and their composition. Her pastose style with short brushstrokes lends an unusual expressiveness to her pictures. It seems that you feel the vibrancy of their colors. Her compositions are highly symbolic and allegorical. And her symbolism is not superficial and decorative. It is a real symbolism intimately linked with the mystery of the subject she depicts. The artist subtly feels this mystery and tells us about it through her paintings."
